The Turkish Embassy in Nigeria held its National Day reception at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, the capital of Nigeria on the 31st of October, 2011.
The friends and well wishers of Turkey were at the occasion which took place a few days after the 7.2 percent Earthquake in that country.
The guests who attended the event showed solidarity to Turkey by observing a minute silence in honour of the people that lost their lives as a result of the earthquake.
The Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the various countries resident in Nigeria were physically present to mark the event. The Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs was represented by Ambassador Mann of the Ministry.
The Ambassador of Turkey in Nigeria thanked the guest for using the occasion to celebrate Turkey and also commiserate with the country over its huge loss of lives and property as a result of the earthquake.
The General Manager of Transcorp Hilton Hotel led his management team to the Turkish National Day reception.
