It was a funfair for three days in Ibusa Town in Delta State of Nigeria, when the former Managing Director of BANK-PHB , Mr. Francis Atuche and his siblings paid a final respect to their late mother, Madam Atuche. It was a total CELEBRATION OF LIFE tagged ’ CELEBRATING OUR SWEET MOTHER ‘.
The dates 11th,12th,13th and 14th of August, 2011 cannot forgotten in a hurry as the people of Ibusa witnessed a heavy human and vehicular traffic in the town with all roads leading to the Atuche Family Compound.
CELEBRATING OUR SWEET MOTHER was such a spectacle that the indigenes of Ibusa could afford to miss such a life time funfair on their soil. It was a ‘ tri-partite’ in the sense of culture, tradition and Christian ceremony for four consecutive days with non-stop bash. It was an occasion that had ‘ Who is Who ‘ in the public sector.
There was also the Creme de la Creme in the society ranging various government officials, bankers, industrialists, businessmen and women, traditional rulers, academicians, Journalists, politicians, students , the friends, admirers and well wishers of the Atuche family. It was a grand occasion
The GREAT ANTHONIANS – members of the ‘ ST. ANTHONY’S COLLEGE, UBULU-UKU , DELTA STATE OF NIGERIA, OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION ‘ were fully represented at the Ibusa bash. Francis Atuche is a GREAT ANTHONIAN.
There was so much to eat and drinks and nothing was lacking. There was ‘ much.. much ‘ that it was a common scene to find even the big men holding their take away packs full of ‘ mende..mendes . There ‘mo gbo mo yas ‘ –gates crashers – did not regret their actions as they too were well catered for without discrimination.
The Elegant Stallion, Onyeka Onwenu and her Band thrilled the guests so much that the daddies and mummies did not leave the floor all through The Wake Keep night and the reception party on the day of the interment of Madam Atuche. Onyeka Onwenu played her heart for the multi-cultural guests as she chunned her best musical tracks one after the other to keep the arena agog.
The famous OGBOGU and his traditional Band also performed to make the occasion thick. Pat Willy, a Lagos- based brought the ‘ Old School ‘ flavour to thrill the audience.
The popular comedian GORDON cracked the ribs of the his non-stop hilarious jokes alongside his co-MC SILVER OFORGU, a veteran comedian cum Broadcaster.
