The morale and attitude to work by officers and men of the Command have been boosted and improved upon more than ever culminating in their doggedness, dedication and commitment to Crime fighting and zero tolerant to criminal activities in Federal Capital Territory.
Some of these Officers and men who have distinguished themselves by their prompt response to crime and arrest of suspected armoured cable robbers, recovery of the Armoured cable worth millions of Naira and suspected stolen Peugeot 307 vehicle (black in colour) used for the criminal act by the suspects are being awarded today with Commendation letters from the Commissioner of Police. This is to encourage other Police officers and men to emulate them.
CASE 1.
SMASH UP OF A NOTORIOUS GANG OF ARMOURED CABLE VANDALS, ARREST OF SUSPECTS AND RECOVERY OF ARMOURED CABLE WORTH MILLION OF NAIRA AND SUSPECTED STOLEN VEHICLE

EXHIBITS: (i) ARMOURED CABLE MILLION OF NAIRA
(ii) A PEUGEOT 307 SALOON CAR REGN FH 769 ABC
On the 25th October,2011 at about 0320hrs Police report team around Utako District in Abuja sighted the above mentioned vehicle with all the suspects while carting away Armoured cable worth several millions of Naira already vandalized from some PHCN transformers in the Area.
On sighting the Police Patrol Team, the gangs speed off through another direction. The joint efforts and resistant put up by the patrol Teams and the FCT Police Control Room led to the arrest of the suspects, the vehicle and recovery of the exhibits around Kuje Junction on Airport Road, Abuja at 0400hrs. All the suspects were taken into custody and upon interrogation they confessed to the offence and are presently helping the Police in further investigation into matter. The case will be charged to court on completion of investigation.

ARREST OF A VICIOUS ONE MAN GANG BURGLARY AND HOUSE BREAKING SUSPECT

As a result of a proactive and intelligence led crime prevention strategies put in place by the FCT Police Command to nip in the bud criminalities and to prevent and control crimes in the Territory, the above mentioned suspect Aliyu Ahmed Alias “Danborno’’ a notorious one man gang who, specializes in breaking into people’s residences at night and other times when the residents are away on holidays, was trailed and arrested by Crack Detectives attached to FCT Special Anti Robbery Squad on the 16th October, 2011.
The suspect was monitored and observed spending money in millions of Naira and other foreign currencies at a reckless rate above his means of livelihood; if at all he has any. Upon his interrogation he confessed to have broken into the residence of a family who traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform this year’s Hajj in an area in the Metropolis Abuja.
