KADUNA POLO 2011 TOURNAMENT

The 2011 edition of the Kaduna International Polo Tournament commenced on the 11^th of November, 2011.

The yearely event has a lot of polo teams from Kaduna, Katsina, Jos, Port Harcourt, Bauchi. A total of thirty one teams are in Kaduna for the tournament taking place through the week. Over five hundred ponies (horses) are playing in the tourney.

The teams include the current Georgian Cup holders and National Champions, El-Amin and Georgian Cup contenders Rubicon. The Emir of Katsina Cup is contended for by Kaduna Dee Bee Farms owned by veteran Polo Play, Dawule Baba (a.k.a Teacher).

Kaduna Keffi Ponies, Kaduna Trappco, Katsina IT Sec, Bauchi Linkage, Kaduna Defcom, Kaduna Safaz Shelter Kaduna Dee Bee Farms 2, Kaduna HFH Global Resources are contesting in the NAHCO cup category stream A.

In NAHCO Cup stream B, there are teams like Port Harcourt starz Marine, Yola Yula and Katsina Max Air.

The El-Amin Cup has Streams ABCD. The contestants are, Kaduna Honda Resources, Kaduna Defcom 2, Kaduna Dee Bee farms3, Katsina Dan Masani, Katsina Kurmaval Tigers, Katsina Gobarau, Nigeria Police Jos Blueline, Yola Fombina, Bauchi Gubi, Minna Multawalli, Zaria Kuyambana, Zaria Kufena, Zaria Kubanni, Port Harcourt Avutan and Port Harcourt Bulwark.

Other cups contested for in the tournament include. The GOC’s Cup, Veterans Cup, Shehu Kangiwa Cup Argentine Ambassador’s Cup, Gloucester’s Cup Presidents Cup, Dangote Cup and Hassan Hadejia Cup donated by the Life President of the Kaduna Polo Club, Alhaji Hassan (Shettiman Hadejia)
