It was a big celebration in Kaduna, the Kaduna State capital in Northern Nigeria when a young couple, Amina Biu and Ibrahim Olaiya Okurinmetta Ajibulu tied the knot in an elaborate wedding to seal their seven years of courtship.
Amina,a staff of MTN NIGERIA, a Telecommunications company is the daughter to Colonel Hassan BIU ( Retired ) the Chief of Staff to Former Military President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida while her husband works with GLO NIGERIA another Telecommunications giant in the country .
The traditional marriage ceremony took place at the residence of Colonel and Mrs. Hassan Biu at no 38 Mashi street in Kurunmashi area of Kaduna. As at eleven in the morning, the compound was full to the brim with various dignitries from all works of life and from every part of Nigeria. They included some foreigners.
The Niger State Deputy Governor. Alhaji Ahmed Ibeto led the other digntries including senior military officers like General John Madaki, ( Retired ) and the General Officer Commanding, GOC., Major General Okunbor, Alhaji Mohammed Babangida , who represented General Ibrahim B. Babangida in the Islamic Religion marriage ceremony.
The wedding Reception took place at the Kaduna Golf Club where guests were treated with lots of entertainment, sumptuous meals and drinks ( non alcoholic ). The Chairman of the occasion was General John Madaki while the Special Guest of Honour was the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant- General Ihejirika, who advised the couple to always be the best of friends and that they should third party interference in their marriage. It will be recalled that ceremony attracted the largest turn out of the high military echelon aside from a military event.
