However in the fourth and final Chukker, a player in the Lifaya team, Ismaila Yar’ Adua fell of his pony but continued for a few minutes before he left the field of play. Ismaila fondly called Siasia by friends was taken in an Ambulance for treatment by the Medical team led by Dr. Francis Ogbise. He later returned with a bandaged elbow.
The Shehu Yar’ Adua Cup was played in honour of late General Shehu Musa Yar’ Adua, the Chief of Supreme Headquarters in the General Olusegun Obasanjo Government between 1976 and 1979.
The Shehu Yar’ Adua Cup was sponsored by the Katsina State Government.
